Activity 2: Pilot implementation Traffic and Transport related RIS Services

Countries involved: AT, BE, BG, FR, HU, NL, RO, SK

Traffic-related RIS Services are services for the enhancement of safety and security of inland navigation. Such services include Traffic Management and Calamity Abatement Support. Transport related RIS Services are mainly focused on efficiency of inland navigation and include information to transport logistics and information for law enforcement.
Activity 2 focuses on the further development and testing of traffic and transport related RIS Services by means of enhancement of existing infrastructure and provision of additional advanced RIS services.

The specific objectives within activity 2 are:

  • SuAc 2.1: Standardisation
    Contribution of standardisation of RIS key technologies and RIS Services by means of participation in relevant expert groups

  • SuAc 2.2: Low-cost heading device
    Pilot implementation of a low-cost heading device for inland vessels. (SuAc leader: Jürgen Trögl, via donau, Austria, juergen.troegel(at)via-donau.org)

  • SuAc 2.3: Shore infrastructure
    Enhancement of pilot infrastructure on shore

  • SuAc 2.4: On-board infrastructure

  • SuAc 2.5: Calamity Abatement Service
    Pilot implementation of enhanced calamity abatement service. (SuAc leader: Piet Creemers, WenZ, Belgium, piet.creemers(at)wenz.be)

  • SuAc 2.6: Traffic Information Services
    Pilot implementation of additional messages and functionalities over Inland AIS. (SuAc leader: Jürgen Trögl, via donau, Austria, juergen.troegel(at)via-donau.org)

  • SuAc 2.7: Advanced Services for governmental messages and functionalities over Inland AIS
    Pilot implementation of additional messages within electronic reporting as well as harmonised singe sign on approach. (SuAc leader: Jos van Splunder, RWS, Netherlands, jos.van.splunder(at)rws.nl)
